Tulamben Suitable for almost any certified diver.
Tulamben, on Bali's remote northeast coast, is home to one of the world's most famous dive sites: the wreck of the USS Liberty. At 61,112 tonnes and 120 metres in length, the Liberty was torpedoed Jan. 11, 1942. Taken under tow towards Singaraja, she never made it and was beached at Tulamben. On Mar. 17, 1963 a massive eruption of Bali's Mt. Agung finally sent the Liberty to rest in a watery grave.
