OVERVIEW
SOBEK Bali, Indonesia's top professional rafting company, operates
this unforgettable adventure daily,
twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon.
You will be picked up at your hotel in an air-conditioned coach
and transported to the village of Begawan just north of Ubud. Once
you have registered you are given rafting equipment for the day
- helmets, life jackets, paddle and divided into rafting groups.
You are now ready to confront the exciting challenge ahead.

SAFARI
INFORMATION & HIGHLIGHTS
The adventure starts with a climb down to the river (about 10 minutes
is needed to descend the steps) location where the rafts are waiting.
As soon as everyone arrives at the river / starting location of
the rafts, the guide/s then give a thorough briefing on safety and
the correct way to raft the Ayung River as well as paddling practice.

From
tranquil tropical silence you are taken to fast flowing water
carving its way through the river valley to an immense jungle,
studded gorges intermingling with 25 individual class II and
III rapids that provide the largest individual gradient of
rapids in Bali. Expert river guides and modern safety equipment
ensure that the day is fun and safe for the entire family.
The approximately two-hour rafting trip will take you through
the most spectacular tropical jungle scenery, stunning, waterfalls
and untouched rain forest.

At times you may even come across the luminous Blue Javan Kingfisher.
A continuous mixture of wild excitement and fantastic jungle sightseeing
confronts you as you cover the 11 kilometers of river. Throughout
the trip the guides not only skillfully maneuver the rafts, but
also take time to pass on their knowledge on local Balinese lifestyle
and the local flora and fauna of the Ayung River valley.
Photographers
follow the adventure, documenting the event as you go along. At
the departure point the photos are on display for you to view and
purchase. The rafting adventure comes to an end at the river base
camp. Once at the river base camp sit back, catch your breath and
relive the excitement of the trip.Towels are provided the moment
you step from the raft.

Shower
/ wash off under an uniquely designed bamboo waterfall to
freshen up before lunch (or early dinner depending on your
rafting time) at the terraced river restaurant on the banks
of the river where a feast of Indonesian delights & selection
of mouth watering Western favorites awaits.
After
a relaxing meal, you are returned to the starting point, where
you can again shower before getting into dry clothes for the
return back to your hotel or villa.

The
return journey back to your hotel usually starts at about 1.00 pm
for the first group of morning rafters and 2.00 pm for the second
group, arriving aproximately 2.30 & 3.30 respectively. The first
group of afternoon rafters usually departs around 5.00 pm, while
second group leaves about 6.00 pm arriving at your hotel at around
6.30 & 7.30 respectively.

The
guides are professional river/ white water and outdoor adventure
guides trained in 'best practice' safety techniques and first aid
All guides undertake training in the flora and fauna of Bali to
help make your adventure not only fun and exciting but also educational
and interesting.
Sobek uses only International Standard safety equipment, including
helmets and life jackets. The river is graded with Class II &
III rapids. In the rapid rating system, Grade IV is generally the
largest raftable rapids for commercial operators.
